This policy explains how Edge AI Australia (edgeaiaustralia.online) handles personal information. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In short: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and we don't run user accounts or sign-up forms.
Email enquiries
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply, to act on listing or correction requests, and to keep a record of the conversation. We don't add you to a mailing list. Email sent to our domain is forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing service to a mailbox we manage.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Cloudflare handles this information under its own privacy policy, and its network may process requests outside Australia.
Analytics
We use Matomo, self-hosted on infrastructure we control, to count visits and see which pages are read. It is configured with cookies disabled, so it doesn't set tracking cookies in your browser, and we don't share the analytics data with an analytics company. We use the results to decide which guides to improve. Matomo's documentation explains how tracking without cookies works.
Advertising and cookies
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Disclosure and overseas processing
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers named above (Cloudflare for hosting and email routing, and Google where ads are shown) or where the law requires it. These providers operate internationally, so information may be processed in other countries, including the United States.
Security and retention
Access to our mailbox and analytics is limited to the people who run the site. We keep emails only as long as we need them to deal with your request and keep a reasonable record, then delete them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@edgeaiaustralia.online. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, for example if we add a new service provider, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
